Fundraising is a tangible way in which parishes and youth groups can get right behind World Youth Day Sydney 2008. WYD08 fundraising is mostly linked to assisting less privileged pilgrims from Australia or overseas to attend the WYD08 celebrations.

There are many ways in which you can fundraise for WYD08. They can include, but may not be limited to:

• Fete Stalls selling official WYD08 fundraising merchandise
• Car Washes (remember to use a bucket!)
• Trivia Nights
• Movie Nights
• Walk-a-thons
• Mufti Days and so on

Fundraising can be an effective method for your parish to encourage young people to attend World Youth Day Sydney 2008.

We ask that you first discuss your fundraising concept with a member of the WYD08 team for further clarification prior to proceeding with those activities.

Official WYD08 Corporate Affiliates will also be launching specific fundraising activities of their own once their programs get underway, and your parish or youth group may be able to participate in them directly. More details of these programs, and the WYD08 Corporate Affiliates themselves, will be announced in 2007.

Church recognised organisations are also able to use the WYD08 logo to lend credibility to their fundraising activities. There are a number of approvals that need to be given to use the logo, so please click here for information on using the logo .

You do not need our approval if you wish to undertake fundraising without any use of the logo or of WYD08 fundraising merchandise.
