If you want to participate in WYD08, you need to officially register through the Egeria system. Only those who have registered will have priority access to WYD08 venues during the week, and get the full pilgrim experience. Each registrant will be required to create a log in and password and enter their personal details.

You are encouraged to form a group when you register, from your country of residence. This means that your group will have to nominate a group leader (it is possible to have more than one group leader per group).

When a registrant selects 'group leader' they can create their own group and will be given a group number for pilgrims to join.

Alternatively, when registrants select "pilgrim" they can nominate which group they would like to join. Please contact your local parish priest/Catholic youth organisation for details of a group you can join.

It is important that all members of the group share the same package type (chosen by the group leader, either package A, B or C). For more information on package types and costs please click here .

Package B does not include accommodation. Group Leaders that choose package B will have to make their own arrangements for accommodation. Group leaders will be able to choose alternative accommodation that WYD has secured at discounted rates in venues such as backpacker hostels, Caravan parks and Hotels/Motels. This can be found under the packages tab next to group leaders personal details page in the Egeria system.

Package C is suitable for pilgrims that wish to attend the weekend events only (Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July).

Please note: the package cost does not include air fares, so you will have to make your own arrangements to travel to and from Australia. Make sure you visit the Visa tab section for more details regarding the application of a Visa, found next to your personal details page after you register

How to choose a package?

The group leader determines the package type of the group. Pilgrims share the same package type as the group leader. For more information on packages and costs please click here .

How can I book an accommodation for the 3 days before and after WYD?

WYD08 is also providing floor space at a minimal expense (approx $20) three days before and after WYD week 14- 21 July (this option also includes breakfast daily). The group leader on behalf of the group can mark which additional days the group would like to be accommodated pre and post WYD week under the packages tab, after selecting the package type.

How do I pay?

A whole or partial payment can be made by the group leader or individual group member in their individual registration. The group leader can also make a payment on behalf of the whole group.

However group members will not be able to view the payment tab in their registration without the group leader selecting a package type for the group.

The group members will be able to view the group payments page and the total Inc GST column headingrefers to the total amount for the group. The group member needs to pay only for the individual cost of the package and an optional solidarity fund that starts at $15 (to help others attend WYD).

Currently payments can be made by Mastercard or Visa card.

How to register for Days in the Dioceses
