The Journey of the Cross & Icon Travelling Team (JCI TT)

There will be two teams of people accompanying the Cross & Icon on its journey around Australia. The first team took part in the journey from July 2007 to November 2007. The second team will take over in February when the JCI continues it's journey.

  1. I'm a priest of the Missionary of God's Love - a new community of priests and brothers (There are MGL sisters too).

What excites me most about being part of the JCI Travelling Team is: The chance to listen to people from all over the country share about their faith, and to see that faith enriched and deepened through their encounter with the WYD Cross and Icon.

What excites me most about being part of the JCI Travelling Team is: Having the opportunity to share God's love with the youth of Australia!

5 things you should know about me

  1. I have been blessed with five awesome older siblings and an incredible set of parents.
  2. Honesty is my best (and worst!) attribute.
  3. My favourite things are friends, music and travel.
  4. As a little girl my mum once banned me from saying that I was bored - I'm a person that likes having lots to do!
  5. I am definitely a 'night person' - chatting to my housemates til 1am or working on the computer til 4am is not uncommon for me. I CAN get up early in the morning, I just prefer NOT to.

What excites me most about being part of the JCI Travelling Team is: How different it will be to my life right now! World Youth Day had an immense impact on my life and I'm really excited about travelling Australia with the other members of the team as messengers of World Youth Day, the Cross and our faith. Through the joys and challenges of the journey, I am hoping to come to a greater awareness of the life that God is calling me to live, and encouraging others to do the same.

5 things you should know about me

  1. I have three brothers and now three sisters (thanks to two newish sisters in law!)
  2. I love discussing life issues and having debates (notice I say debates not arguments!)
  3. I have a habit of singing, humming and whistling - let me know if it's bothering you.
  4. I like to play Netball - GK and GD are the best!
  5. I love chocolate (actually, anything that contains large quantities of butter, sugar and cream are winners too.)

What excites me most about being part of the JCI Travelling Team is: I can't wait to share my passion and enthusiasm for WYD with other Australians. I'm also really excited about meeting Catholic Youth from all over Australia and being able to witness as the WYD Cross and Icon touch those in its path.

What excites me most about being part of the JCI Travelling Team is: The experience of travelling as a JCI pilgrim with young people will be an honour that I find hard to express. In my own faith journey I see great opportunities for spiritual and personal growth. I am very excited about travelling the open roads of our great southern land.

What excites me most about being part of the JCI Travelling Team is: I am so excited because I know that this is going to be the adventure of a life time where I am going to encounter unique experiences in the most significant aspects of my life. It is the chance for Australia to witness the beauty and truth that exists in our faith. For me that is a reason to live.
